Painted pots ( and cats! ) Part 2


 Well, I finally finished my red and brown pot. It now sits on a shelf  in my studio.

 I am quite pleased with the result. It works well with my red wall, and is a good contrast to the green plant.


I finished the pot off, with some help from Cocoa and Tequila. I will come to that bit in a minute!


I added some dabs of different reds, and browns, until I got the mottled look I was after.
Then to jazz it up a bit, I put a thin layer of gold glitter paint at the top. This is proper decorator's glitter paint, not the kids stuff! Trust me, it makes a difference!  Then, I added a few layers of matt varnish to seal it all in.


I had a lot of help from Cocoa and Tequila, as these pictures show. 








Fortunately, they did not get covered in wet paint. How they managed that I am not sure!
