Well, I finally finished my red and brown pot. It now sits on a shelf in my studio.
I am quite pleased with the result. It works well with my red wall, and is a good contrast to the green plant.
I finished the pot off, with some help from Cocoa and Tequila. I will come to that bit in a minute!
I added some dabs of different reds, and browns, until I got the mottled look I was after.
Then to jazz it up a bit, I put a thin layer of gold glitter paint at the top. This is proper decorator's glitter paint, not the kids stuff! Trust me, it makes a difference! Then, I added a few layers of matt varnish to seal it all in.
I had a lot of help from Cocoa and Tequila, as these pictures show.
Fortunately, they did not get covered in wet paint. How they managed that I am not sure!
