Continuing my theme of the colour RED I have made some Valentines day cushions today. These will go for sale at a craft fair at the weekend, then on to my Folksy site if they do not sell first time.
These are really easy to make. Why not give it a go !
First I chose a selection of red/orange fabrics that worked together. I sewed them in to 4 strips, big enough for the front of a cushion. I also chose some complimentary fabrics for decoration.
I then drew out some different sized heart shapes on paper. I traced around the edges on to Bondaweb. I used an iron to fix these on the back of my chosen fabrics. The last stage is to neatly cut them all out.
I attached these on to my cushion fronts, with the iron. I then did some blanket stitch around the edges.
Next I added some lace and ribbon for decoration. I sewed on the cushion backs. this is a deep orange satiny type fabric.
Here is the result! My Valentines day cushions. Well, you could use them all year round, not just that one day. Every day should be Valentines day really!
